This is our second installment of our 2020 Leadership Team testimonies. We asked our Vice President of Operations, Heather Li, to tell us a little bit about her job in the sorority, what it was like to receive her bid, and some of her favorite memories in Delta Phi Epsilon!
Hi, I’m Heather Li, I’m the new VPO, or Vice President of Operations. Basically, I manage the money and make sure that everything runs smoothly. I approve purchases, ensure that the sorority is staying within the budget, and also help run the risk management program (kind of like Sober Sisters). I’m in the Dancing Queens member class, so I got my bid after spring recruitment in 2019. I was a little nervous when I got my bid, since I didn’t know what it would be like to be part of a sorority. But when I opened up my bid, I looked over at all the DPhiE girls dancing and singing and they looked like a giant family. I began to feel like I could really belong with this loving group of people who welcomed me with open arms. I have so many fun memories in DPhiE, but one of the best times I’ve had is this year’s semi-formal. I had so much fun dancing around, laughing at my silly dance moves, taking too many pictures at the photobooth, and sharing a giant bag of goldfish with other sisters. I love the community, the warmth, and the acceptance in DPhiE. <3
